Getting In Touch With Nature Outdoors In Gulf Shores Alabama
Fall is here and with it comes cooler days but not colder days. The fall is perfect for exploring these areas. No special talent is needing for hiking, just a waterbottle and endurance.
Trying a few of the shorter trails before making the commitment to longer ones is always a good idea. Along with trails located in the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry, and the Gulf State Park, Fort Morgan offers a challenging workout.
Golf is always an option here with award winning courses plus smaller courses with smaller fees. Don’t know how to play? No problem. Various lessons, classes, camps are available. Start with the Gulf Shores Golf Academy. Naming a few, here are some of the courses: Glenlakes, Kiva Dunes, Lost Key, Peninsula, Rock Creek, TimberCreek, Cotton Creek, and Cypress Bend.
Take a field trip. You don’t have to be young to be young at heart. Animals are always interesting and we have several trips for you in Gulf Shores and the surrounding areas. Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo has been around since 1989 and hope to move to their new location, over 13 acres, in the near future. The present location, under the direction of Patti Hall, has made leaps and bounds over the years providing educational programs in addition to viewing of the animals. If you’re looking for a more fearsome encounter with a bit of comical satire, Alligator Alley in Summerdale is a fun spot to watch over 450 alligators from hatchlings to mature adults as they feed, sun, or nest.
